(This is an edit to my original 5 star review 2 months ago.) My family called early in the afternoon today, October 27th, to let them know we had 16 people coming at 4:30 p.m. The manager said there were only two places in the restaurant where they could seat that many people together. (That sounds like they can do it if they want to.) Three in our group traveled over 2 hours to meet the rest of the family for a birthday dinner. This was a family get-together, including six children. The first person in our group arrived at 4:15 and let them Hostess know that we were coming. They said well we'll probably have to split you up. And they were rude. We explained that it was a big family gathering and we would like to all sit together and we were willing to wait if necessary. The restaurant was not as full as it is at other times, and the parking lot had lots of spaces available. We were rudely told sorry if you insist on sitting together it will be at least an hour. It was like they didn't want to handle a group. This same group has eaten together in this restaurant before. Although, the ones who traveled several hours weren't there so this group was only 12 or 13 last time. We know the problem is not the servers because they are always great. This problem is clearly a management problem. we all left and went to Pizza Ranch who was happy to have our business. Just last night I was with another group for a different function at a Chili's. They were able to see 25 of us together, and they do not have a meeting room. It appears Cracker Barrel simply didn't want accommodate a large group. This doesn't matter to Cracker Barrel, but to add insult to injury it was the first time that our family had been able to get together since my mother spent six weeks at Methodist Hospital due to a stroke. Thanks for making my dad's birthday and my mom's reunion with all of her adult children so special, Cracker Barrel! They must have been scraping the bottom of the barrel when they put together this management team.
I love coming here with my family. I always fine really nice gifts for people and there's always something fun for me. Cracker Barrels are really family oriented also so it's a nice place for families with children to dine in. I definitely prefer their breakfast menu to the lunch/dinner but there's a lot of good choices. The fried okra is great, almost like Grandma used to make.
I always have good meals here. Friendly atmosphere, love when the fireplace it's lit. Nice store inside with lots of choices. My wife has found cookbooks she really liked. Cracker Barrel in Morton is a great place to stop and eat. Breakfast is my favorite here. There are hard to find items here, like divinity. It's worth the trip to eat at Cracker Barrel.
Worst breakfast I've ever had. Ordered over medium eggs, the whites were still runny. Biscuits were doughy. Gravy was lukewarm. Brought it to the waitresses attention and all she said was oh, sorry. Then walked away. Very very dissatisfied. Too bad I couldn't give a -5 stars
I would give them less if I could. Granted we came with 9 guests, but I came early & was told 30 minute wait. I explained that we didn't need the table until 11:00. & was told that that was no problem & that it would be ready at 11:00, 50 minutes later. At 11:15 I was told that it was almost ready. At 11:30, I was told they were cleaning off our table. At 11:45 I was told that they just gave them there to go drinks & checks. After 1:30 minutes later we left and will never set foot in another lying hillbilly hole like that. Never have I been treated so poorly than that.
